Holiday Gift Guide 2020: MADI Favorites Edition

Happy holidays from your team at MADI Apparel! This holiday season, we chatted with our favorite ladies to figure out what type of gifts they would want to see under the Christmas tree.

Together, we created this sustainable gift guide for 2020 (and beyond) to help you find creative and unforgettable ways to gift locally and sustainably this holiday season.

  • Favorite MADI gift: The lightweight bamboo joggers. The french terry bamboo fabric is literally the softest fabric we've ever sourced. I wear them around the house, to bed and also out on walks and errands! I hand-dyed a custom color jogger for myself and I love how it's unique (custom dyeing is an option for our customers, too. Email us for details!)

  • Favorite local gift: A gift card to Skin KC, Hand and Land or Fond Aesthetics.

  • Favorite sustainable gift: A vegan leather jewelry box from Samara Bags. I'm literally obsessed with mine.

  • Favorite useful gift: Weekender duffle bag by Known Supply. They're handmade by artisans out of heavyweight, cotton canvas. I love the color, the mission and the frequency that I use it on quick trips!

  • Favorite splurge gift: An annual subscription to Causebox. My favorite subscription box of highly curated ethically made products. One day I pray we make it in to the box :).

  • Favorite MADI gift: Bamboo restful robe! I love that it's simple and sexy but not too over the top.

  • Favorite local gift: Amigoni wine. What's better than a locally made wine?

  • Favorite sustainable gift: Baggu reusable bag. I keep mine in my purse at ALL times and I love it! I bought mine last year at Hand and Land in Kansas City.

  • Favorite useful gift: Milk frother. I use this thing way more than I ever expected and I plan on gifting it to others this year as a stocking stuffer!

  • Favorite splurge gift: Roasterie's Kansas City coffee subscription. You can buy 3, 6 and 12 month subscriptions from The Roasterie and have them mailed to your friends and family every month! I would love to receive this as a gift.

  • Favorite MADI gift: The Ashley Lounge Pants. I love that I can wear them for workouts, for lounging around the house, and then dress them up for a five star dinner!

  • Favorite local gift: Anything from SkinKC in Brookside. Their face and body products are all chemical free and work really well!

  • Favorite sustainable gift: Silicone Stretch Lids (like from AltCooking Hub). A great alternative to single-use plastics, helps replace ziplock bags, plastic wraps, and aluminum foils around the kitchen.

  • Favorite useful gift: The cheese knife from Cutco. Seriously, it’s the best knife ever!

  • Favorite splurge gift: Anything from Jorjy. It’s right next to Lauren Alexandra in Brookside and owned by Pam DiCapo, everything there is just shiny and bright :) Check out these vases

  • Favorite MADI gift: I love the bamboo robes for a gift! It's thoughtful without being too intimate, and it's perfect because you don't have to know the exact size of the person you're getting a gift for. You can also never go wrong with a great candle.

  • Favorite local gift: I love the Market String bag from Fern & Willow General Store (I shopped their online store, but they're from KCMO) - it's sustainable, and they have it in multiple naturally-dyed color options!

  • Favorite sustainable gift: My favorite sustainable gift is "unpaper towels" which are square fabric terrycloth/flannel towels that roll up together like a normal paper towel roll. They're meant to replace regular, single-use paper towels.

  • Favorite useful gift: I love any sustainable replacement for kitchen items - silicone bowl covers and reusable silicone bags to replace Ziplocs!

  • Favorite splurge gift: Favorite splurge gift is any locally made art or photography prints (like this artist!), specifically watercolor paintings—my favorite.
